Level Up takes a “whole person, whole life” approach to clients’ presenting issues. In our work with individuals, our theoretical orientation is neurobiology- and integrative medicine-informed psychodynamic psychotherapy, which helps to conceptualize the experience of the individual over the life span, while also identifying/attending to possible nutritional, sleep, or other somatic issues that may be contributing to the mental health picture.
This comprehensive approach helps pinpoint the origins of current distress—and the underlying neural wiring that both sponsors and reinforces it—and identify potential intrapersonal obstacles to change and growth. Principles of CBT, DBT, and Short-Term Solution-Focused Therapy are integrated into problem solving and the cultivation of better self-management strategies, to the extent they are relevant and useful in each individual case.
